Jennifer Johanneson
Pilates Instructor
Jennifer has been teaching pilates since 2001 and was certified through Stott Pilates. Jennifer was a recruited diver at the U.S. Air Force Academy and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from the University of Minnesota. Jennifer redirected her global focus to inward transformation, returning to dance, movement and bodywork practices after suffering from undiagnosed health challenges. Working through these setbacks, Jennifer attended the Zenon Dance Company and School’s scholarship program and taught dance at the school. Later, a desire to fly led to coaching and performing with Xelias Aerial Performance Company from 2001-2006. Jennifer has evolved her understanding of the pilates method through continuing education, attending workshops annually, mostly with The Pilates Center of Boulder, Co, as well as other renowned teachers and is currently enrolled in the The Pilates Center’s Master’s Program. Experience as an athlete and dancer overcoming physical limitations has greatly informed her ability to help empower others across a spectrum of abilities. Her philosophy behind teaching is to assist people in finding their optimal functioning and health through this enriching and transformative work.
